It was a tiny Singing Circle. Of the seven participants who showed up to our latest singing circle with curiosity (and nervousness...) sparkling in their eyes, five had never sung in a group before.
You could read it in some of their expressions: Good heavens, I hope she doesn't make me sing a solo!
So we took our time, and warmed up our bodies, our voices, and our intentions. We made silly faces and funny sounds, then got the energy moving through our energetic bodies. Before long, we were diving into improvisations and circles of made-up songs, all accompanied by Dean on guitar and percussion—and by his uniquely entertaining sense of humor.
We ended the afternoon with joy, a sense of peace, and a chorus of: "So, when's the next one?"
The next one will be happening in a few weeks, by which time the air conditioning will finally be installed in our new studio! Because... well… Mexico...
