More about Wellspring Wellspring Edmonton will be a warm, welcoming, home-like environment where people are supported to live well during and beyond cancer. Our doors will be open to anyone diagnosed with any type of cancer, at any stage, along with their families, friends and caregivers. Wellspring Edmonton programs will be available free of charge, delivered by professionals and trained volunteers – most of whom have experienced cancer and want to help others on their journey. It will be a place where people can connect with others who know what they are going through – because they have been there themselves.
Every day in Alberta, 41 people are diagnosed with cancer. In the next 20 years, that number is expected to jump to 80 people per day. While medical care for cancer patients in Alberta is among the best in the world, most people need more than treatment. They need help to heal from the crisis of body, mind and spirit that comes with a cancer diagnosis. They need a Wellspring of support…

Picture Meet Your Hosts: Picture Nicola Crosbie, Chief Meterologist, Global News
Nicola Crosbie has been the Chief Meterologist at Global News Edmonton since 2005. She is a passionate advocate for women’s health issues and has experienced the personal loss of her mother to cancer. Charmed with grace, compassion and an incredible sense of humor, Nicola helps others facing adversity to uncover their deepest strengths and give them a voice. Nicola is also very busy volunteering her time in our community. She is committed to her charity work and spends many hours a year outside the station helping out the charities she loves. She is proud to have emceed the Eskimo Women’s Dinner, in support of Ovarian Cancer research, every year since 2006. Also she emcees the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope yearly, the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes, and lends her support to the Smash Out MS Golf Tournament. Nicola is passionate about women’s health issues, and has raised money by developing the “Nicola Burger”, sold to support Ovarian Cancer research and has a blast being on the Bust a Move Team for Breast Health. Mandy Trapp has been sharing the gifts of Yoga, Meditation and living a healthy lifestyle for the past 15 years. She is a certified Personal Fitness Trainer and a certified (Ayur)Vedic master through the Chopra Center University. Aside from running classes, workshops and lectures, she has founded the “India/Nepal Yoga Project” which is a charitable foundation providing yoga and meditation training in human trafficking rescue shelters in India and Nepal.
